An alternative with great potential to increase the flexibility of wind generation and improve its management is the use of hydrogen as an energy vector. This system allows the electricity generated to be used to produce hydrogen through an electrolyser and store it to avoid spills from electricity production. The stored hydrogen can be used to generate electricity or directly as fuel in hydrogen vehicles.

The stored energy allows to reduce the possible deviations in the generation due to the variability of the wind resource as well as to manage when the electrical energy is injected into the network, improving the economic profitability of the installation.
